Our Role at Rowan University
Our dedicated staff is responsible for feeding the more than 10,000 students and 6,000 faculty and staff of Rowan University. We do so by providing dining services through our Market Place Dining Hall, Owl’s Nest Restaurant, Food Court, Prof’s Place, Jazzman’s and Market Basket as well as catering and our other retail food service locations throughout campus. We provide about 200 part time and full time jobs.
Employment with Rowan University Dining Services
Most positions follow an academic calendar, with layoffs at times for University closings. There is limited summer employment. Upon completion of a 30-day probationary period, our employees join the CWA Local 1038 Union.

Our Hiring Process
- Qualified Internal Applicants will be considered for the posted positions for a period of 7 days
- Qualified External Applicants may be considered for a posted position after 7 days.
- Applications will be accepted at our office located in the Chamberlain Student Center, lower level across from the Post Office
- External candidates with completed applications may be contacted for preliminary interviews
- Upon being hired, a background check will be conducted
- All applications will be kept on file for a period of 60 days from the date completed
